Best friends are really responsible for making our lives worth living. Not only are they always ready for fun experiences, but they are also the ones who are there for us when we need them most. Do you have someone who knows you deep inside, someone who loves you unconditionally and someone who will always give it to you directly and what more could you want for life? So the next time you meet your best friends, thank them for the following priceless things.
Thank you for being painfully honest
I always know that I can count on you to give it to me directly. You will not go around the bush or the sugar bowl. Best friends don’t work that way. Even when I don’t want to hear that the guy I’m so addicted to is nothing more than a fucking boy just spinning me, you would say it anyway. You know it will hurt me to hear this at the moment, but you will keep me from suffering even more in the future. This is just one of the examples, but whatever happens in my life, whenever I need a reality check, I will see you because I know that even if you seem harsh, you are always completely honest and have my happiness and my best interests at heart.
Thank you for all the times you knew me as well as let me take better decisions
You are the one who sees through my fake smile and knows when I need a hug more than anything. Thank you for telling me that I am headed in the wrong direction and that I am deluding myself. Thank you for being the one who knows me even when I lose track of who I really am. You are always there to be my mirror.
Thank you for being silly with me without judging.
You wouldn’t be best friends if you weren’t the right amount of weirdos for each other. Your best friend is someone with whom you can drive and sing each song at the top of your lungs, have specific dance moves for those songs, and don’t care if the cars around you can see. Let’s be honest, you two should probably have a reality show.
Thanks for knowing when something is wrong with me, and what to do to make it better.
You can’t cheat your best friend. They know when something is wrong with you, even when you are trying to lie between your teeth. Instead of frustrating you, they help you. If you’re going through a breakup, they’ll bring you your favorite type of ice cream and help you eat it all. Basically, no matter what is going on with you, they know the remedy to fix it.
Thank you for those ordinary things but that means a lot
You know all these things that seem so ordinary and insignificant, like sending me a good morning text and wishing me a good day at work, sending me something funny, sending me meaningful, inspirational quotes or an article to which I can identify myself, label myself in the right memes, telling myself something I could understand. These things are important. They tell me that I have someone who thinks of me at all times and shares my unique sense of humor. These important little things mean a lot and sometimes even make my day brighter.
Thank you for listening to my unnecessary dramas
I know that sometimes I turn the same story in several different ways to reach the same conclusion. Thanks for not pushing me away and staying with me because you know I need it, so I could heal more easily. You really are something because you never complain and sometimes I get bored with my constant analysis.
There is nothing in this world like having someone you can be with yourself. Someone you don’t need to hide all your strangeness from before. Someone who makes you laugh so hard that your stomach hurts. Someone who will wake up late to be able to talk to you about anything that comes to mind. Someone who will dance the night away and hang out with you. Someone to eat pizza late at night. Someone to travel with. Someone who knows how to make the most of a given situation.
Thank you for sincerely loving me, and considering my family.
A best friend loves you for nothing and nothing else. When you act outside the norm, they challenge you, all because they care about it. They (and their families) consider you theirs. You can enter their house without ringing the doorbell and no one would frown. Card games, family dinners, and vacations are just a few of the benefits of having a best friend.
